ROTARY REBOOT

This is a common sense guide to bring a Rotary club back to its roots, a powerful tribe where the best men and women can help each other to grow, prosper and help their community.

RESTORING THE ROTARY EDGE

Everyone that wins has an edge.  That edge may be a friend, their family or a tribe.  A tribe can be school alumni, a union, a professional association, or a church, to name a few.  A Rotary group has been one of the most powerful tribes in the world until it stopped taking care of its members first.  “Friendship was the foundation rock on which Rotary was built and tolerance is the element which holds it together.”  Paul Harris – 1948   Friends taking care of friends.

What kills a Rotary Group?  It’s the bizarre idea, “I got mine, now you get yours.”   This idea turns a group from a powerful tribe into social club.    There are two types of members in a club.  Members that want a social club that does some good works and members that want their club to be a powerful tribe that promotes the prosperity of its members and community.

The following are the well-worn and proven actions that turn a dying club into a powerful tribe that is a force for good.
